Hello. My name is Adam Severson and I am new to blogging. This is for my GOVT class. Getting my feet wet.

Adam: My name is Adam Severson and i am a student at ACC. I am taking this class to gain a broader understanding of how the national government functions and as a transfer course. A recent online survey i took describes me as a moderate populist conservative. As my blog name implies, it is my belief that we will be most prosperous when there is balance between the right and the left. However this can be hard to achieve as we are seeing now. I have never been interested in the governmnet or politics before but now that I am a little older I am increasing my awareness. I am becoming more aware now that Washington's decisions affect me either directly or indirectly. I dont know if I will ever be actively involved in politics or government outside of voting because I feel I will always be too busy running my own life. I hope in the future I will have time to take a more active role in my government. If only there were more hours in a day. I scored better on the celebrity quiz than the civics quiz. I aim to change that through the course of this semester.
